Indian Small Kit

Over the last ten years I have slowly been collecting up Indian small kit, and nearly all those items have appeared on the blog in detail at some time or other. It is sometimes interesting to get an idea of the overall collection though, rather than a set of disparate items. Today I have pulled out my Indian small pack to show you the contents as they stand at the moment:

This is still very much a work in progress, even after ten years, but I am pleased with how it is coming together. Unpacked the contents of the small pack look like this:

  1. Underpants
  2. Mess tins
  3. Mess tin bag
  4. Boot brushes
  5. Driving license
  6. Hussif
  7. Folding shaving mirror
  8. Wash roll
  9. Soap dish
  10. Aspirin

All the items in the small pack are either produced in India or produced in the UK for either the Indian Army or the Indian consumer market.

The washroll contains, from left to right, jack knife, spoon, shaving brush and button stick:

Close ups of some of the other items:

There are still plenty more pieces to track down and add to the small kit, but its been a lot of fun (if a long process) to pull these bits together and hopefully you enjoy seeing them as much as I’ve enjoyed finding them.
