This week’s photographs are a litle different to our usual fare as they are personal snaps from a soldier serving in Germany and the UK in the early 1980s (some are actually dated to 1984). This comprehensive set of vehicles shows the army under training at recovering vehicles, camouflaging equipment from the Soviet threat and some of the heavy specialist equipment in service at the time. From soldiers who served at the time, the best guess is that these pictures (or at least some of them) were taken at Borden ion the UK and Soltau in Germany and it has been suggested that some of the vehicles come from 6th Armoured Workshop.
