You may recall that a couple of weeks ago I picked up this rather sad ammunition box:

Well I have taken advantage of the weekend’s good weather to sand it down and paint it and it now looks a bit more presentable:

I use Service Brown primer rather than gloss as I think the satin finish is a bit closer to the originals I’ve seen. It’s now at least clean enough for my wife to let it in the house!
